Fedor Emelianenko, the former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion was reunited with Scott Coker when Bellator MMA pleaded for employing the Last Emperor.
The renowned man in Stary Oskal is all set to join with heavyweight slugger Matt Mitrione in June for the Bellator 180 PPV event in New York City. It is a bit too early to figure out the next moves of Emelianenko after Meathead. As per Fedor, he doesn’t have much interest in a rematch with Antonio Silva. He expressed his views last week at a press conference. His very next aim is the fight with Mitrione which will take place on 24th of June. He is quite hopeful that he would win and wishes good luck to Vitaly Minakoy.
The Russian mixed martial artist has won accolades and championships in several sports. Some of the notable ones include MMA, Pride Fighting Championships, FIAS World Combat Sambo Championship and more. Fedor began his career in 2000 and achieved 4 victories at a stretch.
It included a victory over Ricardo Arona, the ADCC champion. This was one of the toughest fights in his entire career. Fedor is mostly known for his striking skills and follows a strategy that includes ground and pound. He has the ability to negate work of his opponent from the bottom and with heavy strikes the damage is caused.
Emelianenko was stopped by Silva under the Strikeforce banner which took place in 2011. It was the biggest victory of the Brazilians MMA career. However, he failed to parlay that in the UFC world title and put together 3-9-1 record in the following fights. Fedor is all geared up to fight Matt Mitrione in the main event of Bellator 180 PPV. With the event taking place on June 24, it will certainly be an interesting one which cannot be missed. The event will be held in Madison Square Garden in New York.
